Fix Greyed out Windows xp firewall

This is one trick that works.  Enable and then set back to 'Not Confugured' the setting for 'Protect all network connections'.  See Below.

Check the Group Policy settings via gpedit.msc

Expand Administrative Templates, Network, Network Connections, then Windows Firewall, and click Standard Profile.

Look at "Windows Firewall: Protect all network connections", and ensure it's set to "Not Configured". Double-click this settings, check Not Configured, "Apply" and "Ok".

If it is already set to "not configured" go ahead disable it and then reset it back to "not configured" and check your firewall option afterwards.
