First you must uninstall any other Anti-Virus product from the Workstation. Use the Add/Remove programs applet in Windows control Panel to find your current Anti-Virus and remove it.
Place the Symantec Anti-Virus CD into your CD drive and wait for the auto start menu to begin. It might take a few seconds so be patient. If the setup.exe program does not start, then you can manually start the program buy clicking on the Windosw Start Menu, Selecting RUN, and entering d:\setup.exe .
Here are the options to select for a single workstation (unmanaged) installation:
1. click INSTALL
2. click Install Symantec End Point Protection (Not Manager)
3. click NEXT
4. click Accept to the license and Next
5. Select the Custom Install Option and NEXT
6. Deselect all options except the two top items named CORE FILES and Anti-virus and Sphy Ware. Then click NEXT.
7. When the installation completes, run the LIVE UPDATE. Do this repeatedly until no more updates are available.
Your Done. Click on the Exit/Quit Main Menu and remove the CD.
