Server Backup Monitoring & Management

We will document procedures for backing up your file server(s) and workstations, then train your staff on the daily backup procedures; or you may choose to use our remote monitoring service where Angelo Consulting Co. will monitor and manage the backup system for you.

The backup software I prefer using is Computer Associates Brightstore Arcserve V11 for complex backup schemas, and BackupAssist for the creation of backup tapes that must remain readable by the server's built-in NTBackup software. The backup method I use is a Grandfather, Father, Son (GFS) backup routine. This industry standard method provides a historical backup best suited for clients using document management systems, or SQL Server Databases. I disagree with anyone who believes a current system state backup is all they will ever need. Databases and other data types may become corrupt days, weeks, or even months before the user has any warning, so in the event of a catastrophic system failure, restoring data to a state just prior to the failure may be worthless.
